Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol[5] (German: Trentino-Südtirol;[6] Italian: Trentino-Alto Adige, pronounced [trenˈtiːno ˈalto ˈaːdidʒe], Ladin: Trentin-Südtirol[7]), is an autonomous region in Northern Italy. Since the 1970s most legislative and administrative competencies have been transferred to the two autonomous provinces which make up the region: Trentino and South Tyrol.
